The Andalusian Health Service (Servicio Andaluz de Salud, SAS) delivers public healthcare in Marbella. The main public referral hospital is Hospital Costa del Sol, a large facility serving the wider western Costa del Sol area. It handles emergency care, surgery, maternity, and specialist consultations.

Primary care is delivered through a network of Centros de Salud across Marbella's districts, including La Campana (Nueva Andalucía) and others covering the town centre, San Pedro de Alcántara, and outlying areas. Your assigned centre depends on your registered address. Registration requires:

  1. Padrón completion at your Marbella address

  2. SAS registration through your assigned Centro de Salud

  3. Issue of the Andalusian Health Card (tarjeta sanitaria)
