Quick facts

  • PortAventura World — one of Europe's largest theme parks — sits 2 km inland
  • Four main beaches: Llevant (busy), Capellans (quieter), Ponent (family), Llarga (nature)
  • Tarragona Roman UNESCO sites (~15 km), Reus modernist architecture (~12 km)
  • Priorat wine region and Delta de l'Ebre wetlands accessible as day trips

Salou's appeal is its density of attractions within a small radius.

  • Beaches: Llevant (main beach, long and sandy), Capellans (quieter, western end), Ponent (family-friendly, calmer water), Llarga (nudist/nature beach south of the town).
  • Passeig Jaume I: The palm-lined promenade — walking, cycling, people-watching. Restaurants and bars line the route.
  • Camí de Ronda: Coastal walking path connecting Salou's beaches. Part of a longer route that runs to Cambrils and beyond.
  • Lumine Golf Club: Two courses (Hills and Lakes) on the edge of town. Open to non-members.
  • Local markets: Weekly markets for produce, clothing and household goods.
