Quick facts
- Torrevieja has a full range of supermarkets (Mercadona, Consum, Lidl, Aldi, plus British product shops)
- Weekly markets operate on different days for fresh produce and goods
- Internet and mobile coverage is good; fibre broadband widely available
- Public bus services connect Torrevieja to Alicante, Murcia, and nearby towns; no train station in the town
Supermarket choice is comprehensive. Mercadona and Consum are the leading Spanish chains. Lidl and Aldi offer familiar formats. British food products are available in specialist shops, particularly around the town centre and in areas with high foreign-resident populations.
The Friday market (Mercadillo de Torrevieja) is one of the largest in the region, selling everything from fresh produce to clothing. Additional markets operate in nearby areas on different days.
